Santen presents surgical offering at ICGS 2020

Thu 6 February 2020

Santen is delighted to continue to share its expansion into surgical devices with delegates at the 10th International Congress on Glaucoma Surgery (ICGS) 2020 in London, UK.

As the centrepiece of Santen’s activities held at ICGS, a panel of experts, chaired by Dr Keith Barton, Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK, will discuss and evaluate the latest techniques available for glaucoma surgeons as part of the Evolving landscape in glaucoma management Santen-sponsored symposium (Thursday 6 February 2020, 13:00-14:30 GMT, Assembly Hall). The group will also review the strategies available for optimising surgical outcomes, discussing the role of Santen’s PRESERFLO™ MicroShunt. Prof Julian García-Feijoó, Universidad Complutense, Hospital Clínico San Carlos, Madrid, Spain, will also shed light into glaucoma surgery from the patients’ perspective, further demonstrating Santen’s ongoing commitment to understanding patients and their needs.

In addition to the symposium, Santen will be hosting an on-booth PRESERFLO™ MicroShunt Immersive Implantation Experience, allowing delegates to participate in a virtual reality (VR) simulation to further understand the device and its benefits. Two wet-lab educational sessions will also be held and led by Prof Henny Beckers, University Eye Clinic, Maastricht Medical Centre, The Netherlands (Thursday 6 February 2020, 14:30 GMT and 16:00 GMT, Robert Runcie Room) for physicians interested in learning more about the surgical application of PRESERFLO™ MicroShunt.

As platinum-sponsors at ICGS 2020, this congress presents a significant opportunity for Santen, a specialised global pharmaceutical company, to showcase its dedication to adapting and evolving technologies in ophthalmology that improve surgical outcomes for patients.
