Junior Chamber Tammerkoski chose Santen as the Employer of the Year

The 30th Anniversary of Junior Chamber Tammerkoski ended with the choosing of the Employer of the Year. The Employer of the Year of 2011 award was granted to Santen Oy, which specialises in eye medicines. Honourable mentions were granted to Bitwise, with expertise in challenging software solutions, and Insinööritoimisto Comatec Oy, whose speciality is machine and equipment design. This was the 29th time that an Employer of the Year award was awarded.

The Employer of the Year 2011 was chosen and the honourable mentions were granted by a distinguished jury consisting of representatives from Pirkanmaan Yrittäjät, ELY-keskus, Tredea Oy, Tampere Chamber of Commerce and Tammerkoski Junior Chamber.

Santen Oy was established in Tampere in 1922 under the name Oy Star Ab. Today, the company employs in Europe about 550 persons, of whom about 400 work in the European Headquarters in Tampere, Finland.

- Santen’s steadily increasing personnel, long-term employment relationships and on-going investments in Tampere are a sign of continuous and long-term commitment to offering local employment opportunities. The company has a good reputation in the area for its professional management of human resources. Also the continuous positive development of the business and good financial standing are worth noting, concludes the jury’s statement.

Santen Oy carries out its social responsibility by actively participating in the activities of many local organisations and universities. The jury also wishes to congratulate Santen Oy on its 90th Anniversary for its exemplary activities in the Pirkanmaa area.
