Taflotan, a new preservative-free glaucoma medicine developed by Santen Oy, has been received well by the market. It has already been launched in Denmark, Germany and Sweden and marketing authorisations have also been received in Norway, the United Kingdom, Austria, Spain, Poland and Finland.
Taflotan is a result of Santen’s own product development and it is the first preservative-free prostaglandin eye drop on the market. It is used to lower intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or elevated intraocular pressure. Taflotan is beneficial for patients with dry or sensitive eyes and who have had symptoms from glaucoma eye drops containing preservatives
